Video: More details confirmed for Windows Phone 7 Series – Channel 9

Microsoft’s Channel 9 video site has posted a video about Windows Phone 7 Series. They actually confirm some hardware requirements of Windows Phone 7 Devices. This is also a really good demo of the Internet Explorer on normal web sites.

  • Requires GPS
  • Requires Touch Screen – Capasitive
  • Options Keyboard
  • WVGA Screen Resolution (800×480, 848×480, or 854×480)

Get Microsoft Silverlight

Also confirmed was that the device would fully support Exchange, Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo email, contact and calendar services.

Another touch feature showing off the integration with social networks was the Facebook photo gallery integration that automatically works by only having to sign in once into Facebook.

The predictive text was also very impressive how you could go back and easily pick the correct word if you did a mistype. While it was not mentioned you can also see that it support the pushing of status messages to multiple services (Windows Live & Facebook) with one post. Presumably this means other third-party could extend this services like twitter and foursquare.

T-Mobile HTC HD2 is to get upgrade

Seem like the HTC HD2 T-Mobile phone is getting an upgrade before the device is even released. The official T-Mobile USA twitter account just tweeted that they will be releasing some details about changes to the HTC HD2 later this week (probably after MWC starts). I think the most likely guess is that they will announce that the HTC HD2 will launch with Windows Mobile 6.5.3 which is supposed to be far more touch friendly.

What would be really nice is if they announce that the HTC HD2 is going to support Windows Phone 7. This could explain the rumoured 4gb internal version ROM of the phone that is supposed to be coming soon.

AMOLED Screen look AWESOME!!!

Picture says it all really… Excellent black contrast even at a shallow viewing angle.

Just wish that even OLED devices like the Zune HD were available in Australia. Will be interesting to see if there are any Windows Phone 7 devices with AMOLED screens at Mobile World Conference next week.
