Updated: Microsoft’s / Sharp’s ‘Pure’ phone has FCC approval – is this Windows Phone 7 Chassis 3

I previously posted that Microsoft rumoured ‘Pure’ phone now has FCC approval. It is widely expected that this will not be running Windows Phone 7 but instead be a upgrade to the Danger series phone using Silverlight for the UI.

Update: An article on the Phonedog.com site has done a post about a rumour that AT&T will be announcing the Microsoft “Pink” (a.k.a. Pure) at the CITA 2010 event on March 23.

Project Pink Turtle Phone with the FCC

Photo has just be found at the FCC that seems to be an exact match for the Microsoft Project Pink device (a.k.a. Turtle). This would mean that Microsoft is very close to having this hand set ready for sale in the USA possibly as early at March.

This could also be the consumer version of one of the Windows Phone 7 Series devices that is to be announced at MWC in two days.

The photo also shows that Sharp are the handset manufacturer of the device.
