Windows Phone 7 Series – support only 2 tiles

Another pocketnow.com story is about the Windows Phone 7 series home screen design layout is that it will only support square and rectangle tiles (what not rhombus). This seesm fairly restrictive but really when compated to something like the iPhone which only support square icons it is much more flexible. Apparently the tiles will support high resolution images as well as the basic colour tiles. It was also confirmed that the screen layout will be customisable in same way the iPhone home screen can be changes (tap and hold).

Windows Phone 7 Series – Then can be more than one

A Windows Phone sign at Barcelona up at MWC 2010 had a sticker under the bottom of it which was covering up some writing. Thanks to some creative photoshoping from the people at Engadget it has now been revealed that the sing says “Windows Phone 7 Series”. This is a good indication that Microsoft are going to be releasing Windows Phone 7 on a number for a number of different uses but still with one encompassing brand. This may be a confirmation that there will be a dedicated consumer version as well as a business version.
